The following is a lightly edited excerpt from my website Jeffrey Matthias Design

Currently in my senior year of industrial design at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colo., my focus is on furniture design with an emphasis on sustainability. I believe good designers not only have an obligation to make the world around them “prettier,” but also to make it better—environmentally and socially.

I will am working this fall (2009) as an intern for Mountainsmith, a maker of outdoor gear. I am currently working on a design thesis for flat-pack furniture and will be blogging about it soon.
