Logo suggestion

Here is a quick logo I fired off, once I realized that the "peppermint gear" is actually the wiki host's logo and not TGIMBOEJ's.

Flying chip.jpg

I can provide whoever is "in charge" with high-rez vector versions.

It's a good concept, but it might be better to have something that's line art rather than a silhouette. Maybe a chip flying *towards* you?

BTW-- The peppermint gear is adapted from the CandyFab project-- one of our other web sites. --Windell 07:47, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Box dimensions

Does anyone have the dimensions for the USPS flat rate priority mail boxes? I have quite a bit of good junk that needs to find a home and am thinking of starting a box. Being in South Africa I really have no idea what a USPS flat rate priority mail box is, but would like to start with the correct sized box so it can eventually travel globally without an issue --Nick (196.11.134.77 11:47, 27 June 2008 (UTC))

Never mind, found it and updated How to start a box --Nick (196.11.134.77 12:21, 27 June 2008 (UTC))
The flat rate box only really makes sense for boxes in the USA-- the rate only applies if it's special USPS packaging as well. --Windell 07:47, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Contact Info

While trying to find new recipients for my box I was often frustrated when a web site had no obvious contact info. Sending email to you@yourwebsite.com usually bounced. Likewise I am not on Twitter, so all of you with Twitter links got bypassed. In the end Facebook and YouTube links worked best for me. Others may prefer Twitter, etc. but I think a more standardized system would make things run smoother. Any ideas? --mjrippe 12:12, 19 August 2009

Don't know if this is within the scope of this site or is doable, but perhaps they could set up an email redirect system whereby emailing the wiki username, like this --> <user's name>@tgimboej.org, actually acts as a redirect; sending the message to the personal email address the user registered with. It would be nice if that kind of thing had a feature that indicated the problem to the wiki user on the wiki user's next login. What do you mean by standardized system?--hartonj 06:10, 24 August 2009

Box Tracking Widgets

Was thinking it would be really cool, if someone has the capabilities (silly question), to have a box tracking widget that you could put on your website. It could poll this site and get the latest info, cache it, and make it available on another page. That would be really nifty if, say you started a box, you could show where it is and maybe even how far it's been. If it could include additional box data, that'd be great too.--hartonj 03:57, 1 October 2009

That would be simple enough. I'll see what I can do... --BlueFusion 04:42, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Great. Good luck, one person emailed me about whether I had any idea about how it should look and said they'd try. After a couple emails I never heard anything back. I assume they got side tracked by life. I still have my concept sketch somewhere. --hartonj 14:51:24, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
